Professional Woman

Meet Your Provider

Nuri Ohn Alberga, RN, MSN, PMHNP-BC, MBA.

I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over a decade of experience in diverse healthcare settings. My journey into mental health care has been shaped by both professional training and deeply personal experiences, offering me a profound understanding of the intricate connection between the mind, body, and spirit.

My work is devoted to helping individuals navigate life's most challenging moments. I specialize in treating complex, treatment-resistant psychiatric conditions, co-occurring mental and physical health disorders, and multiple diagnoses, including substance use disorders. I am particularly passionate about unraveling complex diagnostic puzzles and helping patients who feel their current treatments have not provided the relief they need.

I had the opportunity to serve on the Consult-Liaison Psychiatry team at Sharp Metropolitan Medical Campus, where I gained extensive experience managing complex psychopharmacology challenges across Sharp Memorial Hospital, the Emergency Department, Sharp Mary Birch, and the Rehabilitation Center. This training deepened my expertise in treating comorbid psychiatric and general medical conditions, ensuring a nuanced approach to patient care.

My clinical experience spans a diverse patient population, from individuals with severe mental illness to high-functioning professionals, encompassing a broad spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses and substance use disorders.

As a bilingual provider fluent in English and Korean, I strive to create a space where people from all walks of life feel seen, heard, and valued. My culturally sensitive care reflects an understanding that mental health exists at the intersection of personal history, cultural identity, and life experience. Healing is not one-size-fits-all—it is as unique as the individual seeking it.

My personal journey has profoundly influenced my perspective on care. As a first-generation immigrant, I’ve faced the complexities of building a life in a new country, often feeling the weight of uncertainty, isolation, and the pressure to succeed. These challenges taught me resilience and deepened my capacity to connect with others navigating similar paths. I admire the courage it takes to step into the unknown and would be privileged to support you as you write your own story of perseverance.

Outside of my professional life, I find joy in the simple things. I am a devoted partner and the proud parent of three adorable purr babies, who remind me daily of the beauty in life’s quiet moments. In my downtime, I find solace in nature, reflection, and the lifelong pursuit of learning. Books are my constant companions, and I often find that the wisdom I gain enriches my ability to connect with my patients in meaningful ways.
